About Susan Rich:
Internet Radio Talk Show Host
Writer/Editor, Author & Public Speaker
Susan Rich has a journalism degree and more than 20 years of experience in print, PR, and marketing. She has published more than 2,000 articles and authored two books — more than 1 million words in print. After almost two decades in the corporate sector, Susan launched RichWriting in 2004.
That’s when she quickly discovered that her client base lacked basic marketing and copywriting skills. Because today’s technology makes effective business communication a necessity, she developed the Write it Rich!TM series in 2009. Susan also maintains two how-to-write blogs.
“I teach small business owners and book authors how to grab attention and drive sales so they make more money,” she says.
The Write it Rich! series includes:
- How to Write a Kick-Butt Resume Cover Letter
- You’ve got Email! Now what?
- How to Resonate with an Invisible Audience
- Crash Course in Copywriting, Part I: What Every Solo-Pro Should Know
- Crash Course in Copywriting, Part II: Resonate with DREAMY copy
- Crash Course in Journalism, break into freelance writing
The writing workshop series immediately spawned her first book: Write it Rich! Tips for Reluctant Writers. This was was quickly followed by her second: Write it Rich! How to write a kick-butt resume cover letter. Today Susan helps job seekers write interview-landing cover letters.
Internet Radio Host
In her quest to teach people how communicate effectively, Susan is also the host of Susan Rich Talks! She can be listened to, LIVE, 11 am every weekday morning on The All Women’s Radio Network, w4wn.com.

Lifelong Writer
Susan wrote her first story — Sashblazer the Dancing Pony — when she was nine, and has been writing ever since.
“While I was scribing short stories and poetry, and flirting with ideas for my GAN (Great American Novel), I acquired a degree in journalism…which led to a career writing for newspapers and magazines.
“Along the way I joined several major companies, including Boeing and Tektronix. I learned how airplanes fly (and why they crash), and what goes on inside a logic analyzer (it isn’t logical if you’re not an engineer).”
To that end, Susan managed PR and marketing campaigns, developed materials for
product launches, and fought the good fight with Excel.
“I lost — which only goes to show that I write better than I can build a spreadsheet!”
5 reasons to hire Susan Rich
- I have a business background that includes 20 years of public relations, marketing, and professional writing experience. You can talk to me about your business: What is going right, what is going wrong, and what you would like to have happen. Together we will develop a strategy — based on good writing and modern marketing tools — that will help you tell your story and build your business.
- Unlike other writers, I don’t just interview and write. I don’t assume that the facts I’ve been given represent the entire story. Because of my business background, I ask questions. I challenge your assumptions — even if that makes for a difficult conversation. I am discreet; I honor your confidences, even without a non-disclosure agreement. The more open you are with me, the more powerful your story will become.
- I do my homework: I study your business. Your competitors. Your industry. We’ll talk about you, and how you help solve a customer’s problem. We’ll tell your story — through your customer’s eyes. Together we will craft a message platform that you can use over and over again — in almost any medium.
- Next, we’ll talk about where and how this message platform can be used. This not only stretches your marketing dollar, it helps you become top-of-mind in your target market.
- Then, and only then, will I begin to write. Unlike other writers whose chief talent is to write well, and to write quickly, my process — business writing from a marketing perspective — takes more time. I will deliver distinctive, compelling copy that tells your story. It will be customer-centric. It will be succinct and market-driven. It will help you do exactly what you want it to: Build your business.
