About Susan Rich
While I was scribing short stories and poetry, and flirting with ideas for my GAN (Great American Novel), I acquired a degree in journalism...which led to a career writing for newspapers and magazines. Along the way I joined several major companies, including Boeing and Tektronix. I learned how airplanes fly (and why they crash), and what goes on inside a logic analyzer (it isn’t logical if you’re not an engineer). To that end, I managed PR and marketing campaigns, developed materials for product launches, and fought the good fight with Excel. I lost -- which only goes to show that I write better than I can build a spreadsheet. After two decades in the corporate sector, I left in 2004 to start my own business... and here I am. 5 Reasons to hire Susan Rich as your copywriter or copy editor1. I have a business background that includes 20 years of public relations, marketing, and professional writing experience. You can talk to me about your business: What is going right, what is going wrong, and what you would like to have happen. Together we will develop a strategy -- based on good writing and modern marketing tools -- that will help you tell your story and build your business. 2. Unlike other writers, I don’t just interview and write. I don’t assume that the facts I’ve been given represent the entire story. Because of my business background, I ask questions. I challenge your assumptions -- even if that makes for a difficult conversation. I am discreet; I honor your confidences, even without a non-disclosure agreement. The more open you are with me, the more powerful your story will become. 3. I do my homework: I study your business. Your competitors. Your industry. We’ll talk about you, and how you help solve a customer’s problem. We’ll tell your story -- through your customer’s eyes. Together we will craft a message platform that you can use over and over again -- in almost any medium. 4. Next, we’ll talk about where and how this message platform can be used. This not only stretches your marketing dollar, it helps you become top-of-mind in your target market. 5. Then, and only then, will I begin to write. Unlike other writers whose chief talent is to write well, and to write quickly, my process -- business writing from a marketing perspective -- takes more time. I will deliver distinctive, compelling copy that tells your story. It will be customer-centric. It will be succinct and market-driven. It will help you do exactly what you want it to: Build your business.
