Because There Are Two Sides to Every Flier
Realtors: Does this ever happen to you?
You get a new listing. You place a stack of fliers in front of the home...and you wait for the phone to ring.
Sometimes it does – but just as often, people do what I do:
I pick up the flier, take it home to my husband, marvel at the listing price, then throw it away. Your name doesn’t even register.
While it’s true I’m not your customer in that moment, I might be some day. You should still try to connect with me.
If you asked me, I'd say:
"There are two sides to every flier. Make the flip side work for you."
This is a simple, effective idea, because it: • Positions you as an environmentally savvy Realtor, which • Makes a good impression on "green-minded" folks, and • Allows you to introduce yourself to potential clients...
A two-sided flier adds power to what you’re trying to do in the first place: Introduce yourself to potential home buyers.
Here’s how it works:
Write a 300-word bio about yourself (or hire me to do it for you.)
Talk about your experience. Why you are passionate about selling homes. Share a fun story, something memorable about you that can connect you with a stranger.
But don’t stop there!
Next, include a short list of your preferred vendors: Your banker, financial planner, home inspector, painter, gardener, and so on.
Sure you can include financial information – but those numbers can become outdated in a few weeks. The goal is to create a resource – useful information that people are more likely to keep.
It might go in their phone book, or get buried in their kitchen drawer, but every time the flier gets pulled out, they see your face, read your bio, and call a number on the list.
Every time a service is completed to their satisfaction, they will think you are just as good as the people you referred them to.
And when the time comes to list their home – or make a referral to a friend – yours might be the first name that comes to mind.
Adding your personal bio to the flier is an easy way to introduce yourself to potential home buyers. Including a list of preferred vendors positions you as an expert in your industry – something that is always beneficial.
If a home flier is your first impression, why not make it a lasting one?
