Prompt: Write for prize
What’s the strangest thing that ever happened to you?
Life is full of surprises, and strange things happen all the time. We might describe those whizzy-woo moments as destiny, fate, or the universe kicking a cosmic cookie our way. Coincidence, serendipity, stars in alignment — it doesn’t matter — give us 100 words on the oddest, quirkiest moment you can remember. Or at least one of them. Or all of them. Really, you can post as often as you want. No rules, just write and share.
You’ll even win a prize – a copy of my book, Write it Rich! Tips for Reluctant Writers, and a shout-out on my internet radio show: Susan Rich Talks…Living the Writing Life. It airs every Monday: 8 am PT, 11 am ET on All Women’s Radio.
So what’s the strangest thing that ever happened to you? Pop your story in the Comments block below.

She studied my palm that hot dusty afternoon, her stubby finger tracing stories. “You have many stars. See?” She tilted my hand into the light. “Are you a public speaker?”
“Me? No. It scares me.”
She pointed at one star. “You have something to say. Talk. People will listen. You are inspiring.”
This was more than five years ago: No workshops, or the hint of one, on the horizon. Just terror at the thought of standing on a stage, facing down a roomful of strangers.
Change was incremental, but come it did.
I’ve gone from fear of public speaking to loving it – gaining enough confidence to have my own daily radio show. And on more than one occasion, I’ve heard her voice echoed in others: You are inspiring.
